Huge demand for Boomers v USA

TEG, Australia’s leading major event sports promoter, has today reported that more than 55,000 fans have registered on the wait list for tickets to the Boomers v USA Basketball Men’s National Team games within the first 24 hours after the announcement. The games will be played at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne, on Thursday 22 August and Saturday 24 August 2019 as part of both nations’ planned preparations for the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China, starting 31 August.

USA to face Boomers in Melbourne

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews MP has today announced that the USA Basketball Men’s National Team will face the Australian Boomers in a two-match pre-FIBA World Cup series in Melbourne, Australia next year. The matches will be played at Etihad Stadium on Thursday 22 August and Saturday 24 August 2019 as part of both nations’ planned preparations for the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China, starting 31 August.

Neil Diamond cancels Australia, NZ tour, announces retirement from shows

Legendary singer, songwriter and performer Neil Diamond today announced his retirement from touring due to his recent diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease.  The onset of the disease has made it difficult to travel and perform on a large scale basis but will allow Mr. Diamond to continue his writing, recording and development of new projects.  Based on his doctors’ advice, the third leg of Diamond’s 50th Anniversary tour, set to land in Australia and New Zealand this March, has been cancelled.

Over 50s spending big on live entertainment

Australians over 50 years of age are spending more on live entertainment than people under 50, new TEG research has found. The findings are based on a TEG Rewards online survey of 1,000 people in August and September this year, along with TEG Analytics event attendance data over a three-year period to 30 June this year.
