Ticketek Australia has today confirmed a printing error on a number of 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony tickets that have been distributed to spectators.
The tickets correctly state the ceremony date of 4 April, but incorrectly identify this day as a Thursday rather than a Wednesday. The error may have affected up to 14,000 tickets.
Ticketek has today worked with GOLDOC, the organising committee of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, to advise ticket holders that the printing error does not affect validity of the tickets. All the tickets will provide entry to the Opening Ceremony via the unique barcode.
Ticketek apologises to affected ticket holders for this error.
“Ticketek can understand that the printing error may have caused some confusion for customers receiving these coveted tickets and we regret that has occurred, but we can assure everyone that their entitlements to the Opening Ceremony are secure,” said a Ticketek spokesperson.
